A group with NASA's Nexus for
Exoplanet System Science (NExSS) is retooling their 3-D climate model to
explore the diversity of planets around other stars. I'll report on my
opportunity to join this group at the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Science
in Manhattan, discuss the physics involved with 3-D climate models, and report
on some new research on the atmospheres of hydrogen-dominated super
earths. I'll also talk about how this
work impacts the detectability of such planets with the next generation optical
and infrared space telescopes.
