As a scientist, why should civic engagement be important to you?  Because your future is affected by governmental action or inaction.  Learn how to contact your legislators, craft your message and how to speak to them.  This talk is targeted to scientists who want to make a difference.

After the normal seminar, there will be a one-hour workshop on how to actually visit your legislature while it is in session at the Utah Capitol.  Other options for becoming politically active and effective will also be discussed as a group.
