The College of Science at Weber State is bringing science hikes back to Discovery Loop! Throughout the summer, guided hikes will be offered along Discovery Loop, a science-based interpretive trail located above (east) of Weber State University.

Each hike will start at the Skyline Trail Head, last for about an hour and a half, and cover various fascinating science topics. All hikes are free and will be kid-friendly, so anyone that likes to take a short walk in nature is welcome to join! Below is the summer schedule and hike topic:

Saturday, May 22, 10 am – Shake, Rattle, and Roll – Hazards of the Wasatch Fault Zone.

Saturday, June 12, 10 am – Mini Monsters – The Story of Things Lurking on the Trail.

Friday, July 16, 5 pm – Don’t Touch Lava! – You are Actually a Lava Monster and Why Water is Important.

Saturday, August 14, 10 am – Back to the Roots – The Tips of a Plant’s Roots are Like a Brain.
