Seminar presented by Anna Hodshire, WSU Physics Major.
Utah's air quality has the distinct dishonor of being among the worst in the nation during the winter. Particulate matters are a major component of this pollution and are of particular concern due to their ill effects upon general health. PM2.5s are especially hazardous to everyone's respiratory health. I seek to better understand the sources and sinks of PM2.5s and to build simple models of this pollutant using Python programming. With these models, I can examine different policy proposals towards controlling the pollution and thereby improving our air.
