The Women’s Center Safe@Weber Advocacy Program, the Outdoor Program, and OCRE have created a trauma-informed climbing workshop. The goal of this event is to create a safe space for survivors and allies alike to have a safe and trauma-informed way to learn the necessary skills to rock climb outside on a top rope. Top roping is the safest way to begin climbing, and is a necessary first step for any new climber. This workshop will teach participants how to top rope safely outdoors, while also empowering them to trust their own bodies, their voices and other participants.
